Should you choose our Professional DJ, he can play as your Guests arrive, during the Ceremony, provide background music throughout the wedding breakfast and continue into the evening, from your first dance to your final farewell. We have a large courtyard area, offering a sheltered spot to welcome your guests. The Black Lion is a relaxed and intimate wedding venue for up to 70 guests. Within a short walking distance from the Holy Trinity Church the view overlooking the Long Melford's green is really quite idyllic. With our own wedding license we are able to host a civil ceremony in The Georgian Room for up to 50 guests or the Study for up to 30 guests. We can open the double doors and the complete area is available for up to 70 guests. The Black Lion also offers the opportunity for an exclusive wedding where you can hire the complete hotel complete with all 10 luxury ensuite bedrooms for the day or the weekend thus enabling complete privacy to relax with friends and family. The Fisher Theatre - a venue to inspire…… The Fisher Theatre is in Bungay, a small market town on the Suffolk / Norfolk border and is the only theatre in East Anglia licensed for weddings and civil ceremonies. For a wedding, reception or both The Fisher is unique in so many ways and a visit to view our facilities is the only real way to appreciate what we have to offer. There are three separate areas licensed to hold weddings and civil ceremonies so whether you are planning for a large number of guests or a smaller, more intimate ceremony we can offer the ideal space. The theatre is steeped in history, a touch of romance and a magical atmosphere. Your wedding day is special and here at the Fisher we do everything possible to help you create great memories. You may wish to dress in full costume and be your own ‘Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy’ or you may prefer a simple ceremony with friends and family - the choice is yours. You can hold your reception and evening party here for which we can offer catering or accept outside caterers. For a ceremony the Gallery or Cellar can hold 50 people and the Auditorium around 100. The Gallery or Cellar are ideal for a post ceremony drinks reception and the Auditorium is ideal for the wedding breakfast seating up to 90 people around 9 banquet tables. For an evening party the Auditorium can hold up to 250 people. We are happy to do the catering in house or you can use outside caterers, it really depends on what you are looking for. Local outside caterers who have experience of events at the Fisher are John Groom Catering or Bespoke Catering, both of Bungay. If you think the Fisher may suit your needs please arrange to visit and look round. Think about your preferred date and plan for alternative dates in case either we or the Registrar are already booked.
