Hampden House is set in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, amongst the wooded Chiltern Hills, with magnificent views over the valley. This honey-coloured, brick and flint house dates back to the 14th Century and was home to the Hampden family, later the Earls of Buckinghamshire, for over 800 years. The venue is approached up a long drive, flanked with rhododendrons and mature trees. The drive passes the delightful 16th Century parish church and at night is floodlit, creating the most magical atmosphere. The Great Hall is a superb 60ft oak panelled room with a huge fireplace. The Dining Room, overlooking the parkland, is richly decorated in white and gold with ornate plaster mouldings and a carved fireplace. Up to 100 guests can be seated for dining or up to 150 for a canapés reception. The venue is licensed for civil weddings. For dancing and larger weddings the house may be extended with a Marquee.
